It’s October. It may feel like the middle of summer here in Eastern North Carolina, but it is in fact October! I have to admit, as soon as it hits September each year, I usually have already decorated our home for Fall, but this year I just couldn’t bring myself to do it with it still being so hot outside. It just didn’t put me in the fall mood, ya know? I finally decorated for Fall last week and although it’s still hot, it did help to boost my fall mood!
I used to decorate for fall with all of the typical trendy fall items like signs that say “fall is my favorite” etc. Lately, I have come to much more prefer simpler touches that blend in with our everyday home décor more seamlessly. There are still pumpkins included in the décor selection of course because it wouldn’t be fall décor without at least a few. But now, my fall décor is more like switching out pillow covers and throws with fall colors with simple patterns, switching everyday rugs for rugs with subtle brown and orange tones, adding simple fall floral, switching artwork for fall artwork with more scenic pictures rather than words, and adding fall scented candles.
